Off to the vet surgery

The day started off so well with a massive supply of hay and a bundle of treats. But it's gone downhill. I have been bundled into a carry case and driven to Laurencekirk where bunmum always gets sent away while I am poked and prodded.

Today I am told they are going to flush my eye ducts without sedation. I'd like to see them try!

The Plastic Tree

It's that time of year again, Dylan's favourite hiding place is reconstructed!

Let me try it out for you Dylan..

Dylan says 'you can't see me', dumb rabbit.

He now says 'where are the decorations?' I think bundad has given up for today Dylan.

Our Snow Bunny

Bunmum and bundad attempted their snow bunny. It doesn't look like this since the birds have eaten it's peanut eyes and pulled out it's whiskers.

I am not impressed at all with it.

Through the British Bunnies facebook page I have now seen a far superior effort!

Snow Bunny

With all the snow covering the UK bunmum has decided it has to be time to attempt to make a snow bunny. Could it be possible? Well we might find out today if she finds the energy to do it.

You see bunmum is what is apparently called 'pregnant'. As a result she generally lies around all day feeling tired and on the odd occasion she runs to the toilet in a hurry. Bundad says my life is about to change considerably and that fills me with dread. I think I may become an outdoor bunny?! Dylan is oblivious to the fuss and will probably remain so until the arrival of the little human at which point Dylan will probably permanently hide.

Since my last post I have been to the vet surgery where they made me sleep for a while and they filed my back teeth and flushed out my tear ducts. Not a nice experience I can tell you. Today bunmum and bundad are going to walk to the vets with me where no doubt it will be decided that this whole procedure will be done again. My wee face is wet and bunmum keeps insisting on putting drops in my eyes. It is not much fun to think that I might have to visit that surgery every ten weeks to have my teeth and eyes sorted! But I know I'm in good hands and Dylan does his best to try and stop the eye drop torture by generally putting himself in the way of the bottle.

So, watch this space and perhaps you may see a snow bunny.

This isn't very interesting reading. Any suggestions of what will entertain me?

Ooh it's quite tasty actually.

Big Brother

Tonight was the final of Big Brother in the UK. I wasn't too impressed. I refused to pay attention in fact. Bunmum insisted that we sit through it, so I cleaned myself.

Oh dear oh dear. I've been so lazy and not blogged in a long time. I must tell you about my summer some time.

In the meantime bunmum tells me that I must remember to tell you that there is very little time left for you to vote in the Sunny Bunnies Competition poll. It closes on Thursday. Here is the link: www.britishbunnies.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=32

I will return soon to tell you my tales.

The Sign of Hard Working Bunnies

Gee Pepper, the box has collapsed. I think our work is done here. What do you think?

Don't be silly Dylan, there's plenty to be done.

Bunmum, please take note, we will be needing a new project very soon!

Summer Pictures

Check me out! Bunmum has started a new competition on her website and called it 'Sunny Bunnies'. This picture of me was used to launch it.
Don't I look pretty?
I can't wait for this miserable weather to improve so I can get out and enjoy some of that delicious grass.

Stressful Days

April has felt like such a long month with so much change going on I could't keep up.

It started with a holiday. Bunmum and bundad went off to sunny Benidorm and Dylan and I booked our usual boarding hutch where we have stayed many times before. But it was a stressful week, I found the change of scenery to be a little disturbing and i missed my little home in Montrose.

When bunmum and bundad came to take us home I wasn't feeling myself any more and I did't feel up to eating my homecoming meal. When I didn't feel up to eating breakfast either bunmum became alarmed and whisked me to the vet where i was poked and prodded and given an injection. Bunmum chose to work from home and for the next terrible 24 hours she attempted to force feed me with the massive syringe. I wasn't having any of it and as a result I was covered from head to paw in liquid food.

Bunmum got upset and took me to the vet who decided to let me stay at the surgery with the friendly nurse. Over a period of three days I was force fed and put under a lovely relaxing sleep to have some dental treatment. Dylan stayed at home and I missed him terribly, so I resolved to get better and see him again. I started with a piece of apple, well a quarter actually, and finally was allowed to go home.

Bunmum has always thought I was a tough rabbit (I was born in a back garden full of labradors remember), but the vets diagnosis was stress brought on by my holiday hutch.
So when bungran came from Oban with her little black scottie my distressed bunmum put Dylan and I out in our garden hutch for the night out of harms way. She let us spend every day in the hutch for a week to get used to it and brought us in at night. When we spent the whole night there it was exciting, like human camping. Just as long as there is no hurry to do it again!

Holidays

Uh oh, the big suit cases are out and quickly filling up.
And I'm not allowed in them!
This must mean I'm going on a trip somewhere.

Recycling

Every year bunmum collects up the Christmas Cards and cuts out the pictures to use them as gift tags the following Christmas.

We thought we'd do her a favour and give her a helping paw.

VHD Vaccination - Pictures of wound attached

I don't get the VHD vaccination any more. Two years ago when I first received it my fur fell out and my skin really irritated me and was swollen. I had repeated trips to the vet to try to relieve the problem and in the end the problem was reported to the drugs company. So I have nothing but sympathy for poor Dylan who has had a bad reaction to the very same drug this week.

Bunmum hadn't wanted to give him the drug, but the vet insisted that it would be worth it in the long run and that my reaction would not be seen in Dylan. So when Dylan had to return to the surgery he met with a very apologetic vet who has never seen this reaction in his working life. His fur also fell out and his skin began to swell, bunmum couldn't believe it!

Grow Your Own

With the new year bunmum has decided to try something new and is going to grow some fruit and vegetables that she promises to share with us. She has started with strawberries and basil and in a few months will plant seeds for carrots, kale and dandelion.

Yum, my mouth is watering at the thought of it all. Mind you, bunmum tells us she always kills plants so we've not to get to excited!

Successful Christmas Presents

Bunmum feels the need to report that we still love our new beds, she is very impressed that they are still in one piece as we tend to tug and chew on materials a lot.
Thankfully she hasn't yet discovered the hole that Dylan created in his bed.
He is constantly trying to rearrange the sides, constantly tidying.
This photo was taken on the second of January. My green bed has since stretched and expanded but that makes it even better as Dylan and I can both cuddle up and have a cosy sleep together in it.

British Bunnies

It turns out that all that time bunmum has been sitting on the computer she has been working hard. She has produced a website, with the big help of her designer friend Kevin Bain, that is inspired by me. Yes me! It's about rabbits and she calls it www.britishbunnies.co.uk.

At British Bunnies you can find advice on all aspects of rabbit care. Hop to bunny basics to find out what your bunny needs, chat and make friends in our forum and keep up to date with the latest news in our blog. And if you're bunparents are going on holiday they can check out the frequently updated UK boarding section to find local holiday accommodation for you.

Imagine my surprise when I found out on this website that I offer a bunny boarding service!! Pepper's pet hotel. Bunmum reassured me that this is not the case and that Pepper's pet hotel is just an dummy example. I am very releaved. But I'm not very impressed that Brambles has a picture in there too. We didn't like her much but bunmum says I have to be nice and share. Humph.

Anyway, this means that bunmum and I will both be fighting over who gets the computer to write our own blog. She has posted pictures of me and Dylan on her one already. http://www.britishbunnies.co.uk/blog.php

Another Smoothie Lover

So, last month I posted a message about the trouble I got into when I discovered the amazing drink called smoothie. I just could not believe my eyes when I looked up at the TV today and inside it there was another rabbit talking about smoothie! It's obviously a firm favourite for rabbits, but bunmum still won't give me any.
AND what a handsome rabbit! Mind you, I could probably have done just as good a job and I'd be a genuine fan.

When I saw this photo on Animal Photos I just had to share it - it looks terrifying!
I am so glad bundad is allergic to cats.

Our Christmas Day

Christmas day was lots of fun with lots of boxes and paper and presents to play with. I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost amongst the mess and letting Dylan come and find me.

The morning was a bit chaotic but once the packaging had been cleared away Dylan and I finally discovered our first Christmas present. It was a lovely cosy bed, and big enough for two of us. I promptly marked it as my own and Dylan decided to just sit beside it.

Luckily for him bungran appeared with another big package and would you believe it - it was another bed. Bunmum and Bungran laughed a lot about this as they hadn't known that this was going to happen. So Dylan claimed the second bed as his own.
The only problem is I like being in his one because he's there. I think I'm getting soft!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone, Best Wishes For 2010

A White Christmas

All this time to spare and I've just become too lazy to do my blog. So lets see if I can catch up with my news this week.

Well to start with I must tell you about my trip to the garden which bunmum insisted should happen. I was so unimpressed I thumped on the sofa, I thumped on the wooden floor, and I thumped in the litter tray. But it was no use, bunmum scooped me up, harnessed me and carried me to the garden.

It's not like I hadn't seen snow before, but of course she had the camera to document my reaction. I wasn't impressed! The snow got everywhere and I just couldn't seem to get it all off.

So I had a quick run around and finally bunmum let me go back inside. Then it was poor Dylan's turn. Honestly, we'd have been much happier just watching it out the window!
