Pawfect

Dylan is very particular about his looks, being white underneath every bit of dirt shows up on him. Bunmum caught him here insisting that it wasn't white enough yet. Honestly the things I do for love!

Hide and Seek

Playing hide and seek with bunmum while the sun is shining. 'One... Two.... Three.... Four.... Bunnies where are you???'

We shut our eyes and huddle so bunmum can't see us.

Trip to the Vets

I'm soooo glad that bunmum broke her camera this weekend. I'm not sure she agrees with my happiness but I am delighted that she didn't have it with her when we visited the vet this week. Oh, it's always a terrible ordeal and this trip wasn't any different, it's better not to document such an event with pictures in my opinion.

The day had started so well with a trip for me and Dylan to the back garden. Dylan was quick to predict something was up 'ooh I don't know Pepper I don't know', but then he does that with every trip to the garden because he's such a nervous soul. We ate to our hearts delight, which reminds me to ask bunmum to move our run because we ran out of grass, and then along came bunmum with our carry bag. I just thought it was time to go back indoors so I jumped in and waited for Dylan who, as usual, had to be hearded into the bag. He's a clever boy really.

In our bag we watched through the netting as we were carried round the house, and horror of all horrors we didn't make it, we were put in the back seat of the car and strapped up. Dylan started his usual stammer ' oh pepper, I don't know, oh pepper, I don't like this' and I decided to chew on the bags interior to pass the time.

It's not a long trip to the vets but we don't like the car much and we were a big squished in the bag. Through the netting we watched as we were carried into the vet's surgery waiting room where horror of all horrors a bull dog was waiting to be seen. It looked straight at us and started to wag it's tail, Dylan thought he looked friendly and wanted to chat, maybe he's not so clever afterall. Luckily the dog didn't stay long.

When we were called into the surgery it was a new different vet and he looked at us one at a time. He picked Dylan up by the scruff of the neck to tip him upside down, he struggled and struggled but the vet won in the end. Both of us clamoured to hide against bunmum and the vet kept pulling us back towards him. Then we both got our Mixymatosis injections, they didn't hurt but we didn't like the whole situation at all. The surgery smelled so clinical, our hair flew all over the place and the vet was spitting it out and blowing it out of his nose.

One by one he placed us on the floor and said a bunch of numbers to bunmum. For some reason she was smiling at me and patting me and saying 'well done you've lost a pound'. Then we both ran into our carry box and waited patiently to be taken home.

On our arrival home we were released into the living room and bunmum told bundad he wasn't allowed to call me fat rabbit anymore and then Dylan and I were given lots of treats. That made it all worthwhile. Dylan doesn't agree. After eating his treats Dylan hid behind the sofa for the remainder of the afternoon.

Comedy Pictures

Being a blogger myself I like to look at other rabbit related blogs to keep me up to date with what my fellow bloggers are up to. This week there were two particular pictures that made me laugh out loud and I just had to share them with you.

The first is from Daily Bunny where the cutest little bunny can be seen trying to make friends. Sooo cute:
The hedgehog looks unimpressed.

The second picture that gave me a giggle this week comes from lol Bunnies which features Elvis in "The Mad Scientist".
Who'd have thought that a bunny could look so evil?
These are brilliant and I'd be happy to show anybody else's pictures in future.

Busy Week

Well it's been a busy week in this bunny household with lots of visitors to the house and lots of quiet time for me and Dylan as bunmum was out for nights out and celebrating her birthday.

Yesterday a little girl visited us and she put my harness on me, I hated it, she tried to take me places and I didn't want to go so I curled myself up in a ball and shot her dirty looks. Bunmum saved me and gave me and Dylan some banana to reward us for being so patient.

So now we are chilling in the living room while bundad watches football, a game I have no understanding of and don't suppose I ever will. I'm more excited about the new toys that have suddenly appeared in different corners of the room and the new stash of hay.

The Red Harness

Bunmum gave me a harness today. A bright red one. I hated it so I wriggled and wriggled. She put me on the grass outside of my garden pen. I was pretty confused so I tried to get back in the pen first from the left,
then from the right, but I couldn't get inside. So I sat for a while in the shade of the grass and then I went for a run, it was great, I could go anywhere and I felt like I had loads of freedom.

Then I discovered bundads sunchair so I munched on some grass under it.
I have a great life.

Fun Now, kids later

I've just been reading about these cute idyllic looking pictures by the Argentinian designer Guillermo Vega. He is an award winning creative director in advertising. This particular campaign won an award at the Cannes Lions in 2007.

The campaign was called "Fun Now, kids later" Can you guess what these pictures advertise?

Grooming Time

Well I was wondering when bunmum would get round to it and unfortunately for me it was today. Ugh. She took me to the table and I instantly knew what was coming, nail clipping. I hate it, I wriggle and jump and dig and hang over the edge of the table, but she always gets me.
I'm realising that the whole thing is quicker if I just sit still, but it's scary, I don't like the sight of those clippers. However, treats were at hand and I soon realised the whole thing was over and bunmum had relaxed. Then came the brush and a rigourous session of hair pulling, yes hair pulling, clumps of it everywhere! Bunmum and bundad have been calling me scrappy for a while now so I suppose I should have seen it coming. Now I look a little better and hopefully I won't have to go through that ordeal again for a while.

Silly Pepper

Well Pepper I thought it was about time I checked out what you were up to on this computer and discovered you had started a blog and hadn't even spelt the name of your site correctly. So of course I lovingly sorted the problem for you. Remember it's L-A-G-O-M-O-R-P-H life in future!

I'm afraid it has meant the the blogs you were following have dissappeared, but I'm sure you'll be able to sort that out soon enough.

Now, bundad is off work sick today so we'd better get tidying, all this hay needs to be eaten up and tidied.

Dylan

Something's wrong....

Hmmm what's going on? All of the blogs I've been following have disappeared and I can't seem to get things to work. DYLAN!!!!!!!

Sharing my space

Well it's official now. I have no space to call my own. Dylan has discovered that the wondowsill is quite fun and now follows me up there regularly. He's been getting braver these days and his character is coming out more now when bunmum and bundad are home instead of just when I'm with him. It's nice but if he's not hiding as much then he gets more attention, hmmm time to be naughty to get some attention....

Caramel Bunny

One of the things that I hate about being a bunny is that I'm not allowed to eat chocolate. I love it, it smells good, it tastes good. But I'm a rabbit and rabbits can't eat chocolate. I try my best to get a taste, when bunmum gets a hot chocolate I knock the mug over and lick up as much as I can before she cleans it up. Or when she leaves a chocolate wrapper lying around I lick it and smell it just to make sure it's finished.

So, I suppose the person in charge of marketing the Cadbury's Chocolate Caramel bar had a bunny in their living room as well to come up with the idea of letting a rabbit promote the chocolate? I wasn't born when this happened but bunmum has kept me up to speed on the use of the seductive rabbit to sell chocolate. Beats me how they got her to talk! And now, they are revamping their promotion and the bunny is out again but this time with make up on and the most impossible curves on her body. I wonder if she gets paid in treats. Bunmum better not get any make over ideas for me, I'm fat and happy!

Giant Woollen Rabbit

I have just come across the story of a rabbit much bigger than me. So much bigger that it can be seen from Google Earth!

It is a knitted dead rabbit. Yes, very weird indeed! Created in 2005 by a Viennese art group called Gelatin, it is 200 feet long and it can be found on Colletto Fava mountain in northern Italy.
The artists took five years to knit and create the bright pink rabbit and intend to leave it for the public to see for twenty years. I’m pretty sure something knitted and left out in the snow will never last twenty years, but we shall see.

The artists write:
'The things one finds wandering in a landscape: familiar things and utterly unknown, like a flower one has never seen before, or, as Columbus discovered, an inexplicable continent; and then, behind a hill, as if knitted by giant grandmothers, lies this vast rabbit, to make you feel as small as a daisy. The toilet-paper-pink creature lies on its back: a rabbit-mountain like Gulliver in Lilliput. Happy you feel as you climb up along its ears, almost falling into its cavernous mouth, to the belly-summit and look out over the pink woolen landscape of the rabbitĂs body, a country dropped from the sky; ears and limbs sneaking into the distance; from its side flowing heart, liver andintestines. Happily in love you step down the decaying corpse, through the wound, now small like a maggot, over woolen kidney and bowel. Happy you leave like the larva that gets its wings from an innocent carcass at the roadside.Such is the happiness which made this rabbit. I love the rabbit the rabbit loves me.'
Try Google Earth yourself to see if you can spot the decaying rabbit, will it still be there in 2025?

Walter is Very Disapproving

I like to look at rabbit websites to see all the different colours, varieties and stories of other rabbits. It is so interesting. So I just had to share my favourite recent picture which appears on the website Disapproving Rabbits.
This is Walter, who looks very very disapproving at being behind bars.

Dylan Spots a Truck

Dylan made his first ever trip to the window sill today. He has never tried to jump this high before so there was lots of excitement about his bravery. But the more he stayed up there the more suspicious I got so I jumped up and pushed him off. Whoops. This window sill is not big enough for the two of us!

But now I know what he was looking at. He had discovered the gardners truck. Uh oh. He cut down lots of juicy looking grass. I hope he didn't visit our garden at the back of the house.

Great Boxing

Introducing our latest box. Bunmum gets us boxes from her work where she goes away to all day leaving us behind. The box makes up for it. As soon as we see it we binky all over the place in excitement and we explore every inch of it. Bunmum cuts a small hole in it for us so we can go in and out and then we get straight to work at making the hole bigger. We usually wait until bunmum is busy on the phone or trying to watch television but it's not quiet work.

Penned Up

Finally I am able to write a new post. Bunmum decided that it was about time we were retrained with our litter trays and restricted us to our pen. It was pretty boring to be honest despite the extra toys we got. And worst of all, no access to a computer! Well bunmum insisted that it was for our own good and we would get more freedom if we learnt our manners, but we weren't buying it and we just continued to do as we pleased.

On nice days we were allowed to go outside into the growing long grass and when we were brought back to our pen it was nice and clean with extra helpings of hay. But it never stayed clean, mostly because Dylan started moulting. His hair is EVERYWHERE! Oh dear, he looks really funny with patchy hair around his sides. And then we thought the worst was over, but no, I've started moulting too.
